CTLD Logistics, Creator+

Helo crews build the battlefield.

Turn on CTLD Logistics on /build and every transport helo gets an F10 menu for hauling crates and troops. Sling a crate to a site, unpack it, and a friendly air defense, radar or JTAC team is on the map. Works on any mission.

The pilot flow

  1. Slot into a transport helo (UH-1H, Mi-8, CH-47 and friends) and land at a pickup point: a friendly airfield, a friendly FARP, or a carrier / amphib deck.
  2. Open F10 → Other → CTLD Logistics → Request Crate and pick what you want. The crate drops on the ground 30 m ahead of your helo.
  3. Hook it up with the DCS sling and fly it to your site. Or, if you'd rather skip sling physics, land next to it and use Load Crate (no sling), fly to the site, land and use Drop Crate Here.
  4. Land within 100 m of the crate and use Unpack Nearest Crate. The unit deploys where the crate sits, and the crate is used up.
  5. For infantry, use Load Troops at a pickup point, fly out, land, and Unload Troops to put a squad on the ground.

What you can deploy

The crate menu is era correct, so a Cold War mission only offers Cold War kit.

Modern: M1097 Avenger, M6 Linebacker, M163 Vulcan, Stinger team, AN/FPS-117 early warning radar, HMMWV JTAC team.
Cold War: M163 Vulcan, M48 Chaparral, Stinger team, AN/FPS-117 early warning radar, M113 JTAC team.
WWII: M45 Quadmount pair, Bofors 40 mm.

JTAC teams

A deployed JTAC team talks you onto targets with laser and datalink. When it unpacks, a message tells you its callsign and frequency, for example “JTAC Axeman 1-1 up on 132.000 AM”. Each new JTAC gets the next frequency up in 0.5 MHz steps (132.000, 132.500, 133.000, ...) and the next callsign, so two teams never share a channel. Tune your radio, check in, and work the targets near the team.

Crates that survive the drop

DCS cargo physics can break a slung crate when it touches down. CTLD watches every crate: one that settles after a sling drop is swapped for a fresh full health crate at the same spot, and one that breaks close to the ground is put back where it fell. Load Crate (no sling) avoids sling physics entirely if you want a guaranteed delivery.

Known limits

  • The menu is shared by your coalition. DCS doesn't say which pilot clicked, so crates go to the grounded helo that is sitting at a pickup point.
  • No beacons or FARP building yet. Those are on the roadmap.
  • Deployed units and troops fight at High or Excellent skill, like every other Fox3 AI.
